We're almost there. We've almost crossed the 2025 finish line. It's been, shall we say, a rough one.

But, hey, I'm sure 2026 will be totally different. New outrages, new war crimes, new global flare-ups....., but also new jokes, new joys. We'll find the balance somehow.

We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, full of light and laughter and cookies. We'll be taking a break from the newsletter until the new year, but will be back better than ever in 2026. See you on the other side.

Recently on TFR we talked about how President Donald Trump and his administration have been attacking the various Somali communities in Minnesota and how the second largest Somali refugee population in the country lives in Travis' hometown of Columbus, Ohio –– while a surge of ICE activity has been seen in The Buckeye State the past week due to Trump's ramped up rhetoric, the City of Columbus has fortunately been trying to defend it's Somali community, with elected officials (some of whom are of Somali decent themselves) stepping up... It's a good reminder that in these divisive times and during the holidays, sometimes local communities can withstand the pressure of our federal government's bad policies.
